Abstract

One of the problems that companies face on a daily basis is transporting raw material with which they must supply the production center, many receive confirmation of the quantities that they must collect at the different harvest points just minutes before starting the departure day of pickup vehicles, this action forces a hasty decision, resulting in a misallocation of vehicles, high costs, excess travel and time that deteriorates the quality of the product. To solve this problem, it was concluded that a model should be created according to reality, which is fast, effective and reliable, for this an Excel program was developed, which has allowed to improve the vehicle allocation, the data that must be entered into the system are: vehicle capacity, the quantities to be collected at each point of the sectors that have been harvested and distances between them, and immediately reports: vehicle that must be assigned to each sector, number of kilometers traveled the times it must be collected in each point, the time it is expected to finish the collection in each sector, the total cost of the collection. An 85.48% reduction in time and a 42.46% reduction in vehicle use were achieved.
