Identification of sex in old colorada (cichlasoma festae) based on morphometric variation

Abstract
The present work was carried out to determine based on the external measurements of Cichlasoma festae males and females, in three groups of reproducers with a weight between 50 and 200 gr. For this purpose, 9 external dimensions were evaluated that were used to test the differentiation of hypotheses The evaluation of external characteristics allowed the identification of a differential external anatomical character for females and males with respect to the jiba, height from hump (AJ) top base of pectoral fin to top of skul Head length is greater in males than in females.
