Abstract

This trial was carried out at the bioabon production plant of the Santa Catalina de Guapante Grande Association, located in the Píllaro canton, province of Tungurahua. According to the data taken with GPS (Global Position System), the town is 2946 meters above sea level, whose geographical coordinates are 01º 05´ 06 ”south latitude and 78º 32´ 42” west longitude. The main objective was to improve the quality of the bioabono by standardizing the production process for commercial purposes, using three sources of inoculum with the Santa Catalina association of the Píllaro canton. The factors studied were: composting methods (M): mascara method and sausage method; and sources of inoculum (I): commercial inoculum (compostreet), efficient microorganisms (EMA's), natural inoculum (moor soil), in addition a treatment without inoculum was added that worked as a control. 1.00 m composters were implanted. long by 1.00 m. wide and 1.00 m. high, for the method of composting Rimero and composteras of 1.00 m. long by 1.00 m. wide and 0.60 m. high, for the method of composting Sausage separated by roads of 1.00 m. The commercial inoculum (Compost Street) was applied by sprinkling on each layer of 20 cm of organic matter, 42.86 gr for the sausage method and 71.43 gr for the mascara method. The EMA's were applied on four occasions distributed during the composting process where 20 liters were poured for the mascara method and 12 liters for the sausage method and the natural inoculum (moor soil) was applied spreading 0.23 m3 for the sausage method and 0.38 m3 for the first method; The witness process was carried out without application of any inoculum.
