Elasticity of honey production with respect to the labor factor in the Province of La Unión in Arequipa, Peru
Main Article Content
Abstract
It is perceived that the production of bee honey in the Protected Natural Area of ??the Cotahuasi sub-basin is well below its potential capacities, to the extent that the protected areas and the climatic conditions are favorable, which is why we apply a model econometric that allows us to measure the elasticity of honey production in relation to work, so that we can show that an increase in the capacities of the personnel working in honey production can increase productivity; In this sense, we apply the linear model, the lin-log model, the log-lin model and the log-log model; the same ones that allow us to estimate the elasticity of honey production with respect to the labor factor. The methodology used is located in a non-experimental, cross-correlational-causal design, gathering information through interviews with leaders of the area and producers of each of the districts of the province under study, the results show that an increase in capacities of personnel, would achieve productivity levels above the average, that is, with higher capacities they could easily increase the production of honey, considering the potential and conditions of the place, which is expressed that if there is elasticity in production in relation to the work factor.
